GCCPA Steer Show Results
On February 17, GCCPA held
its 3rd annual GCCPA Steer Show in conjunction with the 2011
State Livestock Show.
Ninety-six steers competed in three divisions for the titles
of Top Three Overall. Les Wankel from Petersburg, IL served
as the judge.
In the British Division, Cameron Adams exhibited his Shorthorn steer bred by LenBar Farms to win and Brett Dyer exhibited his Angus steer bred by Davis Show Cattle into the Reserve position. In the Continental Division, Sydney Arnold stood Grand with her Charolais steer bred by Oleo Ranch and Wyatt Chandler’s Charolais steer bred by RSE Farms was selected as Reserve. In the Crossbred Division, Leanna Roberts steer bred by Darby Club Calves was Grand and B.J. Townson with his steer bred by Moser Cattle Company was Reserve.
The Top Overall steers were: First Overall – Sydney Arnold (Continental), Second Overall – Leanna Roberts (Crossbred) and Third Overall – Wyatt Chandler (Continental).
